In April 2020 the AWARE project was selected for the shortlist of the Denis O'Leary Medical Educator Award of the Oxford Centre for Medical Education. The panel of judges described AWARE as 'a great asset to the Welsh community' with the following strengths:
Needs led and important project
Country wide initiative
Recognises that a variety of professions need to be involved in combatting AMR
Has enhanced training across all of Wales, to a variety of healthcare professionals about AMR
...innovative, interactive training resources. The initiative is multi-layered in that it involves an initial course, a network, and the provision of particular training resources (any one of which, could, possibly be candidates for the award?)
Broad multi professional input. Use of virtual community to ensure greatest geographical impact of the group in supporting AMR.
